Michael Rubino was the featured expert on Fox 28 Houston to discuss how a burst pipe after a freezing event can cause mold and what that means for homeowners. 

If you had pipes freeze over and burst during a cold-weather event, you could be faced with a mold issue. 

Once mold is discovered in a home, the only way to get rid of it completely is to remove it from the root. These remediation projects can easily become expensive, and insurance companies aren’t always prepared to foot the bill. 

Should mold be left to grow and colonize, it can cause a slew of adverse health reactions to any living inside the home. One in four people are sensitive to mold, so chances are that someone inside will experience symptoms.
